GREAT WAYS TO FUNDRAISE!
Choose a Goal
Think about why you’re walking and how your fundraising will help these important causes. We suggest setting a goal of $100 or more – that’s ten $10 donations. Plus, when you raise $100+ you get a free Lyle’s Myles T-shirt. If you exceed $250 you get a baseball cap to go with it.
Recruit Other Walkers
Ask a few friends and family members to register for the walk and set their own fundraising goals. Think of creative ways to raise money together, or have a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money.
Send Out E-Mails
Contact potential sponsors via e-mail. Use pictures and words to tell why you are participating in Lyle’s Myles and how their contributions will help.
E-Mail Signature
Include a line in your e-mail signature letting your friends and associates know about Lyle’s Myles. Invite them to walk or pledge. Include a link to the Lyle’s Myles website for more information.
Talk to Your Co-Workers
Hang up a donation sheet and Lyle’s Myles poster by the copier, elevator, coffee machine or other high traffic area. Bring your donation sheet to a staff meeting or send an e-mail to your co-workers. See if your company can make a donation, or match the money you raise. (Check your companies policies first.)
Office Potluck
ave each of your co-workers prepare a special dish and donate it to an office potluck. Ask everyone who enjoys the meal for a $5 or more donation.
Voicemail Message
Add a line to your voicemail at home or work letting your callers know you’re participating in Lyle’s Myles and would like their support.

Meetings
Hold a special meeting at work, church, business or volunteer organization. Lyle’s Myles volunteers will come and talk to your group about the race and why we are raising money for AIDS locally and globally. We’ll bring race materials and help people with registering and getting started with fundraising.
Special Occasions
Do you have a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion coming up? In lieu of gifts, why not ask for donations to Lyle’s Myles instead?
Good Old Fashion Letters
Mail a letter to everyone you know explaining your reasons for running/walking and asking for their support. Include a self addressed, stamped envelop and watch the checks roll in.
Host a Benefit Garage Sale
Clean out your closet, attic or basement, with the proceeds going to Lyle’s Myles. This is a great team activity!
Dinner Party
Cook dinner for your guests and ask them to donate to Lyle’s Myles what they would pay in a restaurant for a similar meal.
Talk it up!
Ask your doctor, dentist, hairdresser, grocer, or favorite business owner to support you. See if they’ll display a Lyle’s Myles poster at their office.
